About InjuryByState
After an injury, two questions come up fast: how much will I get while I can't work, and how long do I have to act? The answers are written down in state laws and agency rate tables, but they're scattered, change every year, and are hard to read. InjuryByState turns them into calculators you can use in a minute.
What we publish
- Workers' comp calculators for California, Texas, Florida, and federal employees, using each state's current maximum and minimum weekly rates.
- Filing deadline calculators based on each state's statute of limitations and its rules for claims against the government.
- Plain-English guides on what to do after a work injury and how state insurance systems differ.
Who runs it
InjuryByState is written and maintained by Ray Tolu, who builds the calculators and checks every figure against the statute or agency that publishes it. He is not a lawyer.
What we aren't
We're not a law firm, an insurance company, or a government agency, and we're not affiliated with any of them. Our pages give general information and estimates. Your claims administrator, insurance carrier, or a court makes the official decision in your case.
How we make money
The site is free to use and supported by display advertising. Advertisers don't choose or review what we write, and we don't accept payment to recommend lawyers or companies.
